Tesco has launched a new pink onion into stores to help raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Onion specialist Stourgarden will supply the variety - Rosanna Pink - and will donate 10p from each pack to the cancer charity.
Rosanna Pink Onions are the latest in a series of fresh innovations throughout the Tesco produce fixture, said Steven Williams, Tesco onion buyer. “The variety offers us a clear point of difference from our retail competitors,” he said. Tesco was delighted that each pack sold will contribute to the work of Cancer Research UK.
The Rosanna onions have a mild flavour and three-packs are available from Tesco, priced £1.30.
