Kepak has launched a new cut-price range of its Rustlers branded fast food to appeal to credit-crunched shoppers.
Two products, The Bacon Roll and The Hotdog, have been added to the microwave snacking brand's offerings in convenience and indies, with a fixed price tag of £1.49 - 40p cheaper than its regular burger range.
The launch would appeal to cost-conscious consumers seeking quick, low-cost meals, said Aoife Kenny, Kepak business unit controller. "The range shows our determination to help c-stores encourage shoppers to trial Rustlers," said Kenny.
The launch coincides with a new 'One Finger Food' TV ad, which emphasises ease of preparation . "Lads don't want to waste time cooking but do want hot, tasty, gratifying snacks. Its originality should appeal to our core audience of 16 to 24-year-old lads," added Kenny.
