Sainsbury will next week announce a major boost for the farming community when it brings all its trading schemes with producers under a new banner Partnerships in Fresh Food.
The latest initiative, building on its existing partnership schemes, will further strengthen the multiple's relationships with the UK farm supply base and is likely to ensure special annual contracts.
It is anticipated other benefits will be announced at the high profile launch.
The move will be welcomed in the agrifood sector, coming just three weeks before the official launch of the NFU's British Farm Standard logo on a range of UK products.
