Sainsbury has exchanged contracts with Conran Holdings to develop a 10,000sq ft store within the Bluebird Gastrodome on London's King's Road.
Branded Sainsbury's Market at Bluebird,' the store will stock 7,500 lines, including new product ranges exclusive to the outlet.
The instore bakery will be supplied by Conran, which also has a restaurant, private club, café and cookshop within the Gastrodome complex.
The store, opening on April 3, will look and feel different to any other Sainsbury's with an emphasis on specialist, premium products, said a spokeswoman.
The interior has been designed by Conran and partners.
Separately, Sainsbury opened its 48th Local in Paddington Basin, London, this week and its 21st Central in Wood Green, Essex. It is also due to open a Local in Glasgow's Queen Street on February 12, and another in Mortimer Street, London, on February 26.
Local stores are to open outside Waterloo station on March 3 and in Oxford Street, London, on March 12.
