Sainsbury’s has added a one-click recipe function to its express delivery app Chop Chop.
Shoppers looking for a quick meal can now order all the ingredients from a selection of over 40 breakfast, mains, ‘quick and easy’ and vegetarian recipes with just one click.
All meals have cooking times of less than 60 minutes and their ingredients can be delivered to the door within an hour through the Chop Chop app, which Sainsbury’s is trialling in the Wandsworth area of London.
The new function replicates the recipe area of the Sainsbury’s grocery website, which enables customers to put listed ingredients straight into their shopping baskets. The Chop Chop app launched in June and enables shoppers to order a maximum of 20 items for a fixed £4.99 per delivery.
Sainsbury’s declined to reveal how many people had downloaded the app over the past two months, but expressed confidence the new recipe function would appeal to shoppers.
“We are continually adding new functionality to our Chop Chop app and think this addition will be popular with time poor customers who like to cook and be inspired by new recipes,” said a Sainsbury’s spokeswoman.
