Sainsbury has prevented strike action at its distribution centre in Charlton south east London after unions agreed to accept a compensation package.
The 500 staff at the depot have agreed to Sainsbury’s plans of employing logistics company Exel to run the centre from next month.
Two-year agreements at the supermarket group’s distribution centres in Haydock Park, Merseyside and Hams Hall, Birmingham, have also been accepted by unions.
