Diane Carter, Sainsbury's zone managing director for the east is to become ECR UK's new retail co-chair with immediate effect.
Her remit at ECR UK, the retailer and manufacturer-led initiative managed by IGD, will be to drive industry-wide improvements in availability, distribution, and retail packaging. She will work alongside co-chair and Nestlé UK supply chain director Chris Tyas.
"I am delighted to be appointed to this role," said Carter. "Since its inception, ECR UK has continued to deliver improvements through teamwork and rigorous analysis. I look forward to helping the ECR UK team deliver more of these in the future."
Carter was previously the retail co-chair of the ECR availability working group from 2005 until 2007. In this period she helped to deliver the ECR UK industry availability survey and ECR guidelines on availability.
