Sainsbury’s group development director Luke Jensen is leaving the supermarket chain after six years.
Jensen joined Sainsbury’s from OC&C in April 2008 as strategy director. He went on to hold the role of MD of clothing, general merchandise and entertainment before moving into his current role in 2011.
Jensen said he had decided “to start my next chapter”.
He added that his “personal fond memories” of Sainsbury’s would include breaking the £500m barrier and signing up Gok Wan in clothing, setting up and launching Mobile by Sainsbury’s, and breaking the £1bn barrier in groceries online.
He is the latest director to announce his departure from Sainsbury’s.
As well as CEO Justin King stepping down in the summer, IT director Rob Fraser leaves next month. His responsibilities will be taken up by Jon Rudoe, who last month was promoted to the new role of digital and technology director.
Last month, property director Neil Sachdev also revealed he planned to step down at the end of the financial year after seven years.
