Sainsbury’s has awarded a contract to supply own-label fresh cut herbs in its stores across Scotland, Northern Ireland and North West England to grower Scotherbs.

Sainsbury’s will source 25 pre-packed fresh herb products from Scotherbs, with 80% of its supply grown in Scotland when in season. Pack prices range from 80p to £1.50.

Scotherbs previously supplied branded herbs to Sainsbury’s stores in Scotland. “It’s fantastic to see a Perthshire company with so much passion continue to prosper,” said Sainsbury’s buyer Andrew Restall.

Scotherbs this week announced it had agreed to be acquired by Langmead Group. Financial details of the deals were not disclosed.
