Sainsbury’s has kicked off a shake-up of its soft drink and juices lineup, with a new own-label range of cold-pressed shots and juices.
The eight-strong ‘Raw’ range includes four watermelon-based juice blends, each tailored for a different health benefit. They’re accompanied by two shot products: an ’Immunity’ varient containing turmeric and ginger, and a ‘Collagen’ line containing beetroot and pomegranate. Equivalent seven-day dosing bottles for each complete the range.
The juice blends are already available online, with the rest of the range set to roll into stores nationwide over the coming weeks.
It marks a major expansion of Sainsbury’s manufacturing partnership with drinks company The Turmeric Co, which co-developed and manufactured the lines. The Turmeric Co – which was founded by former Premier League footballer Thomas Robson-Kanu – already manufactured lines for Sainsbury’s Kitchen Deli range. It also supplies Sainsbury’s with its branded shots and launched its Raw Hydrate electrolyte range into the grocer in October.
“The opportunity for this incredible new healthy juice range stems from a long-term, collaborative partnership with Sainsbury’s, first established through the Future Brands initiative,” Robson-Kanu told The Grocer.
“It’s given us a platform to bring our branded ranges to life in retail, and evolve into a trusted manufacturer of both branded and innovative own-label products.
“Together, we share a vision to deliver raw, nutrient-dense drinks of the highest quality that slot seamlessly into consumers’ lives, and we’re proud to see this partnership now extend across this new range,” he added.
The launch kicks off a major expansion of Sainsbury’s functional and wellness drinks offer throughout January, focused on increasing its range of “healthier drinks with benefits”.
It includes lines from G Spot, the nootropics drink brand launched by X-Files and Sex Education star Gillian Anderson in 2023. It marks the brand’s first listing at a major mult following a strategic investment from Heineken, revealed by The Grocer in November 2024.
