The own-label product could be unsafe for consumers due to a potential microbiological contamination

Sainsbury’s has recalled an own-label UHT milk SKU due to possible microbiological contamination.

The By Sainsbury’s semi-skimmed less than 2% fat one-litre UHT SKU with sell-by dates 28 and 29 December 2020 may have been spoiled by the contamination, making it potentially unsafe to consume.

Sainsbury’s explained that the recall was a precautionary measure and urged consumers to return the product to their closest store. The retailer promised a full refund.

A Sainsbury’s spokeswoman said the supermarket apologised “for any inconvenience [the recall] may cause”.
