Sainsbury’s has shaken up its property team so it can continue developing new space in target areas and maximise the value of its estate.
Chris Templeman, head of supermarket property development, becomes head of property acquisitions and development, leading Sainsbury’s supermarkets and convenience acquisitions team.
Tony Mars, head of store planning, feasibility and value management, becomes head of design, construction and delivery. His remit will also take in design and delivery of Sainsbury’s investments.
Jamie Cowen, head of mixed use development, takes on the role of head of investment and planning, with responsibility for location planning, mixed-used development and property investments.
Simon Coates will continue leading the estates management team with responsibility for the management of property assets, including concessions.
Paul Crew will remain head of sustainability, energy & engineering.
“These changes mean we can be much more flexible and responsive in a changing market,” said Sainsbury’s director of property Dean Clegg.
