There's further evidence Heinz is rethinking its strategy for Salad Cream with the promotion of Clodagh Ward to mastermind a heavyweight investment programme in the product. As general manager for condiment sauces, Ward will also look after a substantial portfolio of other Heinz products including pickles, sandwich spreads, relish and condiment sauces across Europe. Ward was previously category manager for condiment sauces. In her new role she reports to Stefan Barden, category director for sauces for Heinz European grocery. Barden said: "Ward's appointment consolidates our new European commercial structure, strengthens our strategic focus and completes the team." SOPHIE UP JACOB'S LADDER Caxton Wines has appointed Sophie Gallois as marketing controller. She will be responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing strategies for Caxton's main wine brands, including Jacob's Creek ­ the top selling branded wine in the UK ­ and Long Mountain. Gallois joins from Campbell Distillers ­ Caxton's sister company ­ where she was international area manager. She earlier worked for Whitbread as new product brand manager. BRADMAN REUNITED WITH MAIN Geoff Bradman has joined Holsten UK to fill the newly created post of sales director. He joins from First Drinks Brands, where he was trading director. Bradman's move will see him reunited with former First Drinks Brands' md Jeremy Main, who joined Holsten UK as md in October. THAT TROPICANA CHILL Christian Jones has joined Tropicana UK as channel marketing controller with responsibility for overseeing trade marketing for the Tropicana Pure Premium and Copella brands of chilled fruit juices. He takes over from David Biggs, promoted to category management controller, Tropicana Europe. Jones previously worked for Kerry Foods. DEVELOPING THE GALLO CHAIN Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery UK has promoted Greg Wilkins, md of UK & Ireland sales, to director of chain development Europe. Wilkins has been in his present role for six years. He will be succeeded by David Bradley, current retail sales controller. NEW PRESIDENT FOR COCA-COLA UK Coca-Cola UK has appointed former US head of strategic marketing Tom Long as president of its UK and Ireland arm. His appointment follows European restructuring and the inclusion of Coca-Cola UK as part of the new West Europe group.
