Japanese brand Sapporo is again championing unusual packaging for beer with the launch of a screwtop bottle.
The 450ml ‘Shot Bottle’ format is aimed at those with active lifestyles and, unlike the liquid in the brand’s other glass bottle and can SKUs, which is brewed in the UK, has imported beer.
Retailing in Unwins and Whistle Stop for about £1.69, the bottle marks a return to the innovation drawing board for the brand, which introduced self-cooling packs as well as cans whose entire lid could be peeled off.
A spokesman for Sapporo said: “Screwcap beer bottles have been available in Japan for a few years but this is one of the first packs like this to come into the UK.”
