Sara Lee Bakery has launched four frozen desserts for the festive season.
Festive Fruit Punch is brandy mousse on a spiced fruit and nut base, topped with fruit and a mulled wine glaze. Marbleous Choc 'n' Orange Cheesecake is a deep filled chocolate and orange flavoured cheesecake (rsps £3.49). Festive Danish Twist is an all butter Danish pastry with cinnamon flavoured paste and mixed fruit layers, topped with nuts, brandy and rum icing (rsp £2.49).
Chocolate 'n' Cherry Pie is a rich chocolate mousse with a cherry and brandy filling in chocolate pastry, topped with plain and milk chocolate curls (rsp £2.99).
"Research has shown that these are the kind of celebratory desserts consumers want," said marketing director David Bolsher. "They have the flavour of Christmas with a great festive appearance."
The company claims over 2.8 million extra households come into the category at Christmas, growing the £273m frozen dessert market by 20%.
