Alastair Porter and Alison Bettac both joined the business in March

Nottingham-based condiments manufacturer Sauce Shop has made two senior hires.

It has appointed former Weetabix sales & marketing controller Alastair Porter as marketing director and former Valeo head of HR Alison Bettac as head of people.

Porter brings 20 years’ fmcg experience to the role, having previously worked for Bacardí, Walgreens Boots Alliance and Carlsberg.

Bettac, meanwhile, has more than two decades’ experience in senior HR roles, including eight years at Valeo.

Both commenced their roles in March. The appointments followed “significant growth” for Sauce Shop, which experienced its first profitable year in 2024, having won nationwide Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi listings.

As a result of increased distribution, Sauce Shop achieved a retail sales value of £3.4m in 2024 and was on track to hit £7m in revenue this year, it said [NIQ 52 w/e 28 12 2024].

“Sauce Shop is in an exciting stage of growth and it’s the perfect time to add crucial experience to our senior team,” said Sauce Shop co-founder Pam Digva.

“Alastair’s expertise in brand strategy and building grocery relationships will be invaluable and take us closer to making Sauce Shop a household name.”

Sauce Shop is currently readying a refresh of its branding, which will roll into retailers in May.
