Schweppes is taking its posh mixer range, 1783, into cans.
The five-strong range, which includes Golden Ginger Ale, Crisp Tonic, Light Tonic, Quenching Cucumber and Muscovado flavour mixers, rolls into grocery from next month in 6x150ml can multipacks (rsp: £3.49 - £3.69).
It would feature “the same luxury branding as seen across the entire Schweppes 1783 range”, said Simon Harrison, customer marketing director at Coca-Cola European Partners. “We know that different types of consumers opt for single-serve cans, so this will attract more consumers to the range.”
It follows the launch of Muscovado into the range earlier this year, with CCEP citing a desire to capitalise on booming sales of rum and whisky.
Indeed, value sales of the two dark spirits have surged, as our Focus on Spirits report reveals this week.
Whisky’s four categories (blended, single malt, imported and single grain) have added a collective £67.2m in value sales, while white, golden and dark rums have grown a combined £21.2m [Kantar Worldpanel 52 w/e 17 June 2018].
