Oriental Express Frozen Food has extended its Scooby-Doo franchise into frozen potato shapes.
Scooby-Doo debuted for the company at the start of the year in a range of kids’ frozen meals containing potato shapes, including Chicken Nugget and Mini Burger meals. Sales of the meals have almost broken the £3m barrier and OEFF hopes kids will also be impressed by the Scooby-Doo potato shapes.
Made from mashed potato and free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives, the potato shapes come in two variants - Scooby and Ghost shapes (rsp: 99p for a 460g pack).
OEFF’s marketing director, Michaela Blunden, claimed kids were becoming bored with existing offerings within the frozen potato market.
She added: “Our Scooby-Doo range is now worth £2.8m and this provides us with a strong platform to build the Scooby-Doo brand in frozen.”
