West Lothian-based delivery platform Scoffable has partnered with Scotmid Co-op, marking the first time it has ventured into the grocery market.
Following a trial in June, the app-based service will roll out to 68 Scotmid stores, out of its 177 overall, bringing “convenient grocery delivery to more households across Scotland”, the businesses said.
Customers can choose from up to 7,000 items, with groceries delivered in an hour. The cost of delivery is £3, alongside a service charge of 50p.
Scoffable is an online takeaway delivery service, offering cuisines including Indian, Chinese and Italian. Scotmid is its first retail partner.
“We’re delighted to bring Scoffable’s seamless ordering experience into the grocery market through our partnership with Scotmid,” said Scoffable co-founder Daniel Jones. ”As our first move beyond takeaway, this collaboration is an exciting step for us.”
Scotmid food online development manager Stuart Forsyth said: “We are proud to be Scoffable’s first grocery partner. Together, we are introducing a fantastic new service to the communities we serve. Scoffable’s strong reputation in the takeaway sector and their innovative platform make them an ideal partner as we expand our online grocery offering.”
