Wilkin & Sons, owner of the Tiptree and Cole’s Puddings brands, has promoted Scott Goodfellow to the position of joint managing director.
Sharing the role with Chris Newenham, Goodfellow yesterday (1 January) replaced Stuart James, who retired at the end of last month but will continue as a non-executive director.
Previously sales & marketing director for Tiptree, Goodfellow began his fmcg career in 1990, joining Unilever’s graduate training scheme before becoming a production manager for the Marmite maker.
In 1994, he moved to Mars confectionery, where he spent 13 years in various senior roles across sales, category management & manufacturing. He joined Wilkin & Sons in early 2008.
Chairman Walter Scott said Goodfellow had taken on the new role at the “most exciting time in the history of our company. I wish him every success.”
Goodfellow said his job was “an absolute privilege. The Tiptree brand is trusted throughout the world and our singular focus remains the quality of our products.”
The business had “achieved steady progress over the last 133 years, and we have a strong and committed team who will continue to move the business forward” he added. “We are particularly excited about growing our core conserves business, flying the flag for exports, moving into new product categories, and expanding our Tiptree Tea Room estate.”
