Scott Wotherspoon, the CEO of Plum Baby UK, is to replace Sean Uprichard as the UK head of functional milk brand A2 Milk.
Wotherspoon’s arrival follows a recent restructure of A2 Milk UK, which saw A2 Corporation take full control of the business. Previously it was as a joint venture with Müller Wiseman Dairies.
His appointment, and other changes at A2 Milk UK, were “designed to position the business in order to take full advantage of the significant opportunity for A2-branded milk products here and in Europe”, said David Hearn, chairman of A2 Milk UK.
Wotherspoon will take up the position from the middle of February.
He gained sales and marketing skills from Unilever in both the UK and Asia and, prior to running Plum Baby UK, he led CyDen UK, a specialist beauty care business where he secured a global distribution deal with P&G.
Hearn said he wanted to thank Uprichard for his “passionate and professional leadership in bringing A2 Milk to the UK over the last two years and for creating the strong management team, premium brand platform and positive sales momentum from which the A2 business will continue to build in 2014”.
