Scottish gin brand Rock Rose has landed its first national listing in Sainsbury’s.
The 41.5% abv drink rolls into 135 stores this week with an rsp of £35. It follows a £300k investment into the brand’s production facility in Scotland, which saw it add a second 500 still for capacity and open a new visitor centre with a tasting room and shop. Sales of Rock Rose grew 50% in 2017, the brand claimed.
The listing marked “a significant step for the business,” said owner Dunnet Bay Distillers founder Martin Murray, signalling “our intent to become a leading brand in the premium gin category”.
“We’ve been blown away by the demand for Rock Rose Gin since we launched and it will be a proud moment to see our wee taste of the Scottish Highlands hit Sainsbury’s shelves.”
