Seabrook has made its first foray into premium territory with lattice-cut crisps in sharing bags.
The Bradford business - which introduced the crinkle-cut crisp to the UK in 1950 - has invested a six-figure sum to make the crisps.
“We have a history of leading category initiatives in our own small way,” said MD Jonathan Bye. “It’s not the first lattice-cut to be made but is currently the only one on the market.”
The 120g bags (rsp: £1.99) will be available from May in natural sea salt, sea salt & red wine vinegar, rich farmhouse cheese and onion, and black pepper & sea salt. A sweet chilli flavour will be exclusive to Asda.
