A Grimsby factory owned by Saucy Fish Co parent Icelandic Seachill has been sold to seafood processor Seagold.
The site became surplus to requirements in 2014, and was acquired by Seagold’s Iceland-based owner Samherji, which promised to restart production and create new jobs, last week.
Seachill CEO Simon Smith said the sale was a “separate transaction” to the recently announced sale of the total Icelandic Seachill business.
The Saucy Fish Co enjoyed a bumper start for its new frozen range in Sainsbury’s, with 80% of sales in its first three months incremental to Sainsbury’s frozen fish sales [Kantar Worldpanel 12 w/e 23 April 2017].
