Symbol group Select & Save has launched a secondary fascia for stores trading in price-sensitive catchments.
Five stores have opened under the secondary fascia, which is coloured red and has “a slightly different look and feel” for those trading on secondary high-street locations. The rest of the estate, neighbourhood convenience, has a green background.
MD Andrew King said the fascia would ultimately account for 5%-10% of the estate and had been developed in response to members who had said they traded in areas where customers did not have a lot of money.
King, who joined Select & Save from One Stop in October, also confirmed he had become a partner in the business while also making a number of senior appointments.
Former Costcutter executive Richard Perry joined Select & Save two weeks ago as business development executive for the North West, while David Cupit, business development executive for the East Midlands, joined this week from Booker, where he was retail development manager for its Premier estate.
