Selfridges has increased its vegan range by 17% compared with this time last year.
It added 112 new lines to its Foodhall this month, 63% of which are plant-based. Over a third (35%) of the SKUs are also exclusive to Selfridges as it strives to showcase the most popular food trends, including catering to plant-based diets.
The products include the UK’s first vegan ‘honey’, in fennel, orange blossom and lavender varieties, from brand Plant Based Artisan (rsp: £7.99). This is designed to have the same amber colour and runny consistency as regular honey, and is made with ingredients including sugar, lemon juice, lavender, apple juice, and chia seeds.

Selfridges is also introducing vegan mochi from Little Moons into its Foodhall (rsp: £1.50 each), made with plant-based Belgian chocolate ice cream, wrapped in soft rice mochi and dusted in cocoa powder. Raw vegan butter cups from Love Raw (rsp: £2.79), in salted caramel, peanut butter and hazelnut butter flavours, have also joined the range, as have vegan ready meals from Plantifull, including Asian teriyaki, coronation chickpea, creamy mac and gluten-free creamy mac (rsp: £4.50).
It is exclusively adding dessert alternative sweet houmous as part of the expansion too. This product, from Hou Choc-O-Chick, comes in banoffee and mixed berry flavours (rsp: £1.99/180g).
Selfridges food buying director Edward Goodman told The Grocer: “With growing customer demand for more vegan options, we have scoured the UK for some of the best emerging vegan brands to introduce to our Foodhall. With brands that have created market firsts, we are sure our customers will be surprised and delighted discovering the range in store.”
