Florette UK has appointed Sandy Sewell as its commercial director, taking over from Mark Newton, who became managing director last November.
Sewell will oversee the strategic development of the prepared salad and vegetable brand. His responsibilities will include sales, marketing, category management and new product development.
He was formerly head of category planning for chilled and frozen categories at Somerfield, where he was part of the team that launched the group’s category management process. Sewell has also held senior management roles in other food companies, including Premier Brands, William Jackson, RVP Foods and Campbell’s Grocery Products.
Sewell said: “I look forward to capitalising on the strength of the Florette brand through increased capital investment and innovative products to drive category growth.”
