‘Sexual wellness’ brand Lovehoney has made its UK supermarket debut in Tesco.
The brand has inked an exclusive deal with the retailer to stock a six-strong range of its sex toys: Comfort Cushion Love Ring, Strawberry Lubricant, Excite 10 Function Silicone Rabbit Vibrator, Excite 10 Function Bullet Vibrator, Silicone Pleasure Balls and Excite 10 Function Rabbit Love Ring (rsp: £4.99-£24.99).
They will roll into 250 Tesco Extra stores across the UK, with the exclusivity period set to last until August 2022.
It’s the first time the brand’s products have been sold in a mainstream supermarket. The listings aligned “with Lovehoney’s mission to normalise the use of sex toys and bring its sexual happiness message to a wider and wider audience”, said the brand.
“We believe that everyone should have a fun and fulfiling sex life, and we look forward to being able to share our fabulous product range with the Tesco customers”, said its CCO Debbie Bond.
It comes as sex care sales, after plummeting in 2020, fell less drastically in 2021. Condom sales were down just 2.1%, while lube sales were up 3.8% [NielsenIQ 52 w/e 11 September 2021].
