BRL Hardy is launching its first South African branded wine. The result of Hardy's joint venture with Stellenbosch Vineyards, Shamwari will be unveiled next week.
The range comprises a Robertson Chardonnay and a Stellenbosch Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon blend, priced at £3.99 and £4.49 respectively.
Christopher Carson, CEO of BRL Hardy Europe, said: "South Africa is one of the fastest growing categories in this wine market and it is clear the South African segment of the UK wine market represents significant profit potential for retailers. Our alliance with Stellenbosch Vineyards enables us to offer customers the opportunity to capitalise on this growth area while laying the foundations to drive forward the South African wine category."
Hermann Boor, md of Stellenbosch Vineyards, said: "We are committed to growing the Shamwari brand significantly."
