Premier Foods is this month expanding Sharwood’s into the pot snacks market.
Rolling out now, Sharwood’s Noodle Bowls will be available in a range of flavours inspired by four of the brand’s ambient sauces: Chow Mein, Sweet Chilli, Sweet & Sour and Singapore Curry (rsp: £1.69). Each bowl contains Sharwood’s medium egg noodles and a Sharwood’s wet stir-in sauce, and also comes with a Spork.
“The launch of Sharwood’s Noodle Bowls meets the needs of those with busy lifestyles wanting a convenient lunch,” said cooking sauces category director Yilmaz Erceyes. “This new format will catapult the brand into the light meals category.”
Sales of pot snacks – which account for 44% of the light meals market - are up 4.6% by value [Kantar Worldpanel 52w/e 1 February 2015].
The Sharwood’s brand line-up includes cooking sauces, naan breads, crackers, noodles, poppadoms and mango chutney. Kerry Food produces frozen Sharwood’s ready meals and rice dishes under licence, and Peter’s Food Service a range of Sharwood’s-branded pastry bakes.
