New British Frozen Food Federation president Nick Shaw has hit out at the government for creating confusion over food labelling after cutting back the remit of the FSA.
Speaking at the BFFF annual lunch, Shaw, commercial director for poultry supplier Westbridge Foods, said: "The FSA continues to have responsibility for food safety labelling, while DH has responsibility for nutrition labelling and Defra has responsibility for country of origin labelling.
"Some joined-up thinking could deliver a real benefit to industry and government."
