Two unusually named whiskies, Sheep Dip and Pig's Nose, are set to be relaunched into the UK off-trade.
The two premium brands have been reformulated and repackaged by Spencerfield Spirit Company to appeal to younger experimental drinkers. MD Alex Nicol said: "We are developing interesting, small brands with big personalities for customers who are disdainful of stuffy, over-serious whiskies."
Sheep Dip, a blend of single malt whiskies priced at £23, takes its name from the days when farmers would hide their home brew from the excise men in barrels labelled Sheep Dip. The whisky has been upgraded with a selection of additional aged whiskies, which are married in first-fill bourbon casks before bottling.
Pig's Nose, at £17.99, is a blended Scotch, which takes its name from the country expression, "as soft as a pig's nose".
Both brands will be distributed in the UK by importer Malcolm Cowen.
