Baguette in a box is the latest food to go development from Delifrance (UK). The frozen baguettes are supplied in a box that is heat resistant to 260degC, and take just two minutes to crisp up in an oven. Initially designed for in-flight catering, the company believes the product is ideal for independents looking for ways of grabbing a bigger slice of the snacking market. Four fillings are currently available: ham and mozzarella, roasted vegetables and mozzarella, tuna and boiled egg, and four cheeses. Delifrance says ready filled sandwiches are a big opportunity. It has taken a year to develop this range and it intends to add further fillings. It will retail at around £1.50. {{NEWS }}
