YouTube collective the Sidemen is to launch its Sides ice cream range into grocery retail.
Made at Beechdean’s purpose-built ice cream manufacturing facility in Cheshire, the lineup includes Cookie Dough Core, Chocolate Millionaire’s, Salted Caramel Cake, and Chocolate Brownie Fudge Cake (rsp: £4.50/500ml).
The ice creams, which contain pieces of cake and “sumptuous” sauces, launched into the Sidemen’s casual dining chain, Sides, in December and had already proven “hugely popular”, said Beechdean.

Salted Caramel Cake and Chocolate Brownie Fudge Cake have secured Iceland listings and will roll into the retailer on 11 February.
“The British ice cream industry needs this,” said Beechdean MD Andrew Howard.
“We see disruption happening in various sectors across the UK retail sector but, really, we haven’t seen a product and brand innovation like this in this sector for a very long time,” he added.
Sides food director Gordon McDermott said: “The reaction to these ice creams in Sides restaurants has been phenomenal… we literally had people buying tubs and tubs like they were in a shop, saying they were taking them home to put in the freezer.
“When that happens, the consumer is telling us something.
“Beechdean has been amazing. Only they could keep up with the staggering demand of our fans,” McDermott added.
