Alliance Wine launched its Skuttlebutt range of blended wines into the UK at the Australia Day tastings in London this week.
The range, produced by Stella Bella, includes a white blend of Chardonnay/Semillon/Sauvignon, a Merlot/Shiraz rosé and a red blend of Cabernet/Merlot/Shiraz, all priced at £6.99.
“The UK consumer has always been slightly suspicious of blended wines, particularly whites, but actually there are more layers than in many single varietals,” said Alexis Gouk, Alliance’s area sales manager.
“We decided the time was right as UK consumers are recognising that Australia does blends well.”
