Arla is launching a 250g tub of its Lurpak Lightest spread in a bid to appeal to smaller families.

The company launched Lightest in a 500g tub in January. The new format would be targeted at “smaller households looking for a healthier spread in the kitchen,” said senior brand manager Jessica Hardcastle.

It would also be useful to convenience retailers, which preferred 250g pack sizes for ease of stocking. The new tubs will carry an rsp of £1.60.
