Dick Smith, commercial director of CJ Lang Group, has assumed responsibility for the Martex Cash & Carry Group, its five Scottish cash and carry outlets.
Smith's move follows a progressive reorganisation drive and the departure of previous cash and carry controller John Cuthbertson.
Smith has also been licensed trade director within CJ Lang for 14 years and is due to relinquish that responsibility over the next year to recently appointed group trading director David Lamb.
Before working for CJ Lang, Smith worked in several fields, including as a self-employed hotelier and overseeing the licensed sector for foodservice supplier Watson & Philip.
He began his wholesale career with Trademarket Cash and Carry Group.
In addition, CJ Lang's director of finance Scott Malcolm has been made group finance director and company secretary Alex Shaw has been appointed to the board.
