Own label crisps and snacks producer The Snack Factory has appointed Ted Weaver impulse sales manager for its new wholesale division.
He will be responsible for promoting sales of a number of brands including Bensons, O'Malley's and XL Crisps. The Snack Factory bought these brands together with Directors Cut, Cool Crew and Space Wars from Snackhouse after it went into receivership on October 8. Weaver said: "I have long been an admirer of The Snack Factory and leapt at the opportunity to promote the extended brands in the impulse sector."
Weaver was an original member of the Makro UK management team, working with the company for 30 years, principally as food buying controller. He was seconded from Makro for three years as Trading Director to set up the Group Trading Alliance, a collaboration of Makro, Spar distributors and the Landmark Group.
