Healthier snacking challenger The Savourists has expanded its range with a duo of Crunchits.
The high-protein snacks – which are made from a blend of toasted edamame, black beans and puffed rice – will debut in two flavours: Thai Chilli and Sizzling BBQ.
They are HFSS-compliant and each 25g pack weighs in at 93 calories.
Crunchits will roll into Ocado in September, in addition to independent retailers and QSRs (rsp: £1.10).
The Savourists made its debut in September 2019, when it launched a line of high-protein savoury snack bars.
Crunchits were developed “off the back of learnings we’ve had from our savoury bars”, said The Savourists founder Harry Turpin.
“We wanted something that would bridge the gap between the crunch of crisps and the moreish-ness of nuts, whilst staying true to our innovative roots.”
There was “a need for new types of savoury snacks, that bring mega flavour, interesting textures, real ingredients and nutrition”, said Turpin.
It comes after The Savourists expanded its snack bar lineup in April 2021 with new Classic Smoky Barbecue and Spicy Chilli Sriracha flavours in a bid to “open the door to a more mainstream snacking audience”.
