Snappy Shopper sold over 3,600 of its 1p promotional packed lunch bundles in just two days.
Scottish shoppers snapped up 3,600 1p bundles of staples such as crisps, fruit and bread – worth a total of £30,000 – on 21 and 22 August.
The initiative ran across 150 Scottish c-stores and in the top performing store, 500 bundles were sold.
The campaign aimed to ease the expense for families who were preparing for their children returning to school amid the cost of living crisis.
The bundles comprised items such as multipack crisps, multipack yogurts, bananas or multipack apples, multipack juices, a 400g loaf of bread and a 100g pack of cold meat.
The goods were displayed under a new section of the Snappy Shopper app menu – ‘Lunch Bundle’ – that flagged up the 1p price.
The grocery delivery app said it was now considering future opportunities to run similar promotions.
“We’re proud to have worked in partnership with our retailers on this promotion,” said Snappy Shopper co-founder Scott Campbell. ”We’re happy that over 3,600 families were able to take advantage of the offer.”
