School Kitchen is expanding to London for its second site at the end of October.
The York-based social enterprise uses school kitchen facilities outside school hours to prepare takeaway meals for the public.
Following a revenue-sharing initiative, money goes directly to the host school, which can be spent on costs such as staffing, school meals, infrastructure and other projects.
The new site at Latymer Upper and Prep School in Chiswick will introduce a dine-in option inside the school canteen alongside its classic food-to-go option.
School Kitchen will inaugurate the new opening with a “nostalgic” school dinner event featuring new recipes debuting in London and chef collaborations including Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain and Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks.
“We are incredibly excited to launch the School Dinners campaign, which brings together nostalgia and gourmet cooking,” said CEO and founder David Nicholson.
“It’s fantastic to be partnering with such esteemed chefs to offer a unique dining experience that celebrates the flavours of their childhood and also introduces diners to exciting culinary creations.
“Creating food for good is part of our mission at School Kitchen, so this new menu will be important to help us fund school breakfasts.”
