SodaStream has made its debut in the UK adult soft drinks market via a collaboration with a healthier syrups startup.
The PepsiCo-owned brand and Australia’s Soda Press have rolled out a seven-strong range of co-branded syrups made with organic ingredients and no artificial sweeteners. When diluted according to on-pack advice, they provide no more than 4.9g of sugar per 100ml.
Raspberry & Mint, Blueberry & Lime, Blonde Cola, Classic Indian Tonic, Pink Grapefruit, Old Fashioned Lemonade and Original Ginger Ale are on sale from SodaStream’s website in a 500ml glass bottle (rsp: £7.99). The cola, tonic, lemonade and ginger ale are also available in Lakeland.
The syrups made “sophisticated”, better-for-you sodas that could be paired with spirits or drunk as an alternative to alcohol, said Soda Press founder Cameron Romeril.
The launch comes around eight months after SodaStream and Soda Press Co entered into their partnership – with Romeril predicting a 400% increase in volume sales this year for the brand he launched five years ago.
