Graham Neale, the general manager and vice president of nutritional healthcare at GlaxoSmithKline, has been elected president of the British Soft Drinks Association.
Neale will serve as president for the next two years. He said “Under my presidency I’ll be looking for us to keep our foot on the accelerator in terms of informing and educating people about all our activities and about new challenges.”
Neale has headed GSK’s nutritional healthcare division, which includes the soft drinks Lucozade and Ribena and malt drink Horlicks, since 1998.
Prior to that he was general
manager for SmithKline Beecham Consumer Brands’ south east Asia and central and eastern Europe divisions. He was also president director general for SmithKline Beecham Consumer Brands in France.
Meanwhile, Paul Moody, managing director of Britvic Soft Drinks has been elected vice president of the BDSA. He will also serve for two years.
Moody joined Britvic as director of sales - grocery multiples in 1996 and held various roles within the company before being appointed managing director in October 2003.
He said: “I am delighted to accept the role as vice president for the BDSA. Britvic believes it is important for the soft drinks industry to have a strong, representational voice on public and industry issues.”
Sainsbury non-executive directors June de Moller and Bridget Macaskill are retiring from the board. De Moller will retire in September after six years on the board and Macaskill will retire next year.
John Brady has been appointed to the board of Greene King as a non-executive director. Brady was previously director of McKinsey & Company, leading its European retail and marketing practices. He takes up his position on June 24.
Concept BSP’s supply chain consultancy division has appointed Colin Cradock and Phil Hort as principal consultants. Craddock was previously primary logistics international supply chain development manager at Sainsbury. Hort joins from Tesco where he held positions in the supply chain initiatives and operational management departments.
