Soft drinks maker Clearly Drinks has acquired flavoured water brand Revolution Waves for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2017 by former rugby player Charlie Simpson-Daniel, Revolution Waves’ four-strong range – raspberry, cherry, cranberry and lemon & lime, is available in more than 100 schools, and is regionally stocked by Asda and Tesco.
The 500ml bottles are low calorie and sugar-free.
The acquisition was in line with Clearly Drinks’ strategy to expand its portfolio of water brands, following private equity backing from NorthEdge Capital in 2017.
A year ago, the business acquired natural drink business the Powerful Water Company, also for an undisclosed amount.
CEO Mick Howard said: “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Revolution Waves to the Clearly Drinks brand, having worked with them for three years.
“We intend to continue the hard work over the coming months and expand the product reach even further than before.”
Revolution Waves was a “great fit” for the Perfectly Clear water manufacturer, said NorthEdge Capital director Lloyd Williams. It complemented the “existing brand base well”, he added.
“NorthEdge are keen to continue to back the strategic vision of the team at Clearly Drinks and remain committed to investing further in acquiring brands which fit with the culture, ethos and unique proposition that the company has developed,” Williams said.
