Somerfield is launching a new range of chicken under the RSPCA’s Freedom Food label.
‘So Good’ West Country corn-fed chicken is produced from Devonshire Bronze birds reared by farmer Lloyd Maunder.
The chicken is available as a whole bird, in both breast portions with skin and in leg portions. Each pack carries a farm of origin reference so consumers can trace the meat back to the place where the chickens were reared.
Celebrity chef James Martin has donated a recipe to mark the launch. The product will also be marketed at point of sale with a leaflet explaining the Freedom Food concept.
