Katie Peters, Somerfield Group’s human resources director, is to replace Bill Williams as head of the Somerfield business unit.
Peters, who is already a member of the group executive committee, will take up her new post on February 16, reporting to executive chairman John von Spreckelsen. Williams will resign from the board at the end of February and retire on April 24.
Von Spreckelsen said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Bill for the significant contribution he has made to Somerfield’s recovery during the past three years and wish him every success in the future. I am confident Katie, who has been with the Somerfield group for more than two years, is ideally qualified to succeed Bill.”
