Patak's aims to broaden the appeal of Indian food still further with a range of four Stir Fry sauces in stores from mid May.
The sauces come in three regional flavours Patia, which is spicy sweet and sour, Bengal red pepper and tomato, and Kerala coconut and pineapple. There's also a Jalfrezi variant.
They can be used with meats, vegetables or prawns and take 10 minutes to cook. Each jar has two recipe suggestions, one for meat, one for vegetables.
Indian food is worth £369m at retail value and growing, but marketing and UK sales director Alison Cannon believes it has even greater potential.
"58% of the UK population eat in Indian restaurants but only 37% prepare Indian food at home," she said.
Stir frying is associated with Chinese meals but Cannon said it was also a traditional Indian cooking method. Half of UK households use a wok regularly.
Rsp: £1.59 for 260g jars.
l Patak's Curry Bus complete with bicycles on the roof is offering opportunities to try Patak's Indian dishes at summer events, including Glastonbury and an international cricket match.
