TV chef Ainsley Harriott has added a diet version to the range of instant soups he brought out last September.
His Hi Taste Low Cal soup range, developed with dried food specialist Brand Partnership, comes in six flavours - leek, potato & pea, vegetable, mushroom, spicy lentil, tomato and chicken noodle. Each contains less than 80 calories and is low in fat and salt.
The chef-branded range will help improve the image of instant soup as well as appeal to health-conscious consumers, said Tim Robertshaw, joint MD at Brand Partnership.
“The introduction of the soups has had a significant impact on driving up consumer interest. Consumer demand is increasing, especially for instant, low calorie, healthy soups,”he said.
