Chopped pork and ham brand Spam has formed an unlikely link with the World Cup with the launch of a limited-edition commemorative football can.
Owner Hormel Foods has developed the World Cup 2006 can to offer football mad consumers something extra to celebrate with, it said. The can even comes with a recipe for pizza to give consumers an idea of how to use Spam product when preparing a snack.
Swen Neufeldt, general manager for Europe, said: "We wanted to celebrate World Cup 2006 and felt the limited-edition can offered consumers a way to support their team."
