Spar is adding nine new lines to its S Budget range after sales from its five wholesalers reached £6m in the year since launch.
The new lines include tea, coffee, double concentrate orange squash and five household products, all of which guarantee a minimum retail margin of 20%.
S Budget was launched last August with 33 lines, replacing the Spar Extra Value brand. fish fingers and a cheese and tomato pizza were added earlier this year to build the frozen food offer.
“Since the S Budget launch last year, Spar retailers have been bowled over by the popularity and success of the range, saying that it has come at the perfect time for their customers,” said brand director Susan Darbyshire. “So it seemed a natural move to launch nine fantastic new products into the range.”
The S Budget energy drink (rsp 42p) was the best selling line in the first year, with two million cans sold.
The new products will be supported by PoS material including posters and shelf-edge label enhancers. S Budget kits with external banners, window posters and gondola end headers and shelf barkers are also available to retailers.
